Before the start of the 2nd game in the Tigers-White Sox doubleheader, Disco Demolition Night took over when former WLUP DJ Steve Dahl hosted the event at Comiskey Park by blowing up a box filled with disco records and the fans left their seats to flood the field. Because of this, the 2nd game forfeited by the Sox due to the conditions on the baseball field became very unplayable. The event itself aired in its entirety on WSNS channel 44 where Harry Caray & Jimmy Piersall called the game. The Tigers def. the ChiSox 4-1 in game one and the day after the infamous event, Tigers swept the Sox 3-1. The Game between the two teams suppose to take place on Wednesday, May 2nd, but it was rained out.
